Unless the context otherwise requires, any capitalised terms used herein but not defined shall have the same meaning as ascribed to such term in the general 'Terms and Conditions' (accessible at: www.rfskillingacademy.com/terms-conditions) of the Reliance Foundation (“RF”) Skilling Academy (“Terms”).
It is hereby clarified that in addition to these terms of use (“Mentorship Terms”), the user shall also abide by the Terms at all times. In the event of any conflict between the general Terms and Mentorship Terms, the Mentorship Terms shall prevail, as the Mentorship Terms specifically govern the access and use of the 'Mentorship Module' of the Portal offered through this Site.
Registration and accounts
- Users must first register and create an account to participate in the website's activities.
- Users must be over 18 years of age.
- 1. During registration, users must provide essential details including their name, email address. Users may also be asked to provide supplementary information such as their educational and professional histories to enhance their learning experience. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that all information provided during registration remains accurate and up-to-date.
- Users are required to maintain the confidentiality of their account, secure their account with a suitable password and not share it with any third parties.
- Each user is permitted to have only one account on the platform. Multiple accounts are strictly prohibited.
Application Process
The application process to be a mentor or a mentee in the Mentorship Program is as follows:
- Applicants must register as a user on the Mentorship Program portal accessible at: [at: www.rfskillingacademy.com], and in accordance with the aforementioned paragraph.
- Applicants must complete and submit the Mentorship Program application for being a mentor.
- The mentor application will be reviewed by the Mentorship Program team.
- Successful applicants will be notified and onboarded onto the Mentorship Program as a mentor.
Mentor Mentee Matching
Mentorship Program follows a mentee-led matching process.
- Information from application forms, taking into consideration mentor and mentee preferences and areas of interest will be analysed. To the extent that you provide such information, you grant RF a fully-transferable, royalty-free, perpetual, sublicensable, non-exclusive, worldwide license to copy, distribute, modify, create derivative works based on, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise use the information. Nothing in these Mentorship Terms shall restrict other legal rights that RF may have to such information.
- A shortlist of 3 mentors will be made available to the mentee. Information shared by the mentors in their registration forms and profile will be used to create their mentor profile. The mentee will be able to view information regarding the mentors name, gender, industry, years of experience, linkedin profile, mentor bio, languages spoken by the mentor on their profile.
- The mentee will choose one mentor from the list of the three mentors provided.
- The mentor will be notified via email that they have been successfully matched with a mentee.
Meeting Structure
- 1:1 meetings between the mentor and the mentee shall be hosted on RF Skilling Academy vis-à-vis jio meet functions.
- Mentor-led meeting scheduling shall take place on the Mentorship Program portal. Mentors and mentees shall be notified and reminded of the meeting being scheduled via email.
- Meetings shall be integrated with mentor's and mentee's online calendars.
- Duration and frequency of the meetings shall be decided mutually by the mentor and mentee, and there shall be no minimum/maximum commitment on the same.
- All communications shall take place on the Mentorship Program portal.
Rules and Regulations
Section 1: Mentor Responsibilities
- Transparency about expertise: Mentors must be transparent about their expertise, suggest alternative resources when necessary, and avoid projecting their own experiences onto their mentees.
- Safe and inclusive environment: Mentors should create and maintain an inclusive, safe space where mentees feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns.
Section 2: Mentee Responsibilities
- Honouring commitments and preparedness: Mentees are expected to be prepared for mentoring sessions, proposing agendas and topics ahead of time when necessary and sharing brief updates on progress since the last conversation with the mentor.
Section 3: Common Responsibilities for mentors and mentees
- Professionalism and Punctuality: Mentors are expected to exhibit professionalism by coming well-prepared for meetings and creating a positive environment for productive discussions.
- Effective Communication: Communication should be maintained within the designated platform, avoiding frequent meeting cancellations and abrupt communication lapses. Harsh or abusive language is not acceptable..
- Professional and Ethical Conduct: Mentees and mentors must treat their counterparts professionally and ethically, demonstrating thoughtfulness and sensitivity towards their mentor's time and feelings.
- Respect for Boundaries: Both mentors and mentees should avoid delving into personal lives, making personal requests, and giving or accepting gifts.
- No Monetary Assistance: The mentorship relationship should focus on mentoring, not financial aid, with neither party requesting monetary support.
- Realistic Expectations: Both mentors and mentees should set realistic expectations, balancing growth with practicality and avoiding unrealistic demands.
- Failure to adhere to the above can lead to disqualification of the participants.
Special Provisions applicable to Mentors
By applying/registering as a mentor, you certify that
- you have not committed any crime against a minor, including child abuse, sexual acts, and pornography;
- you will not use RF's services or website, to harm a minor or a person in any way;
- you have a legitimate interest in providing guidance, support, and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and skills of mentees;
- you will act in the furtherance of the objectives of RF's Mentorship Program to which you are applying, and you will not partake in any activities that are of detriment to RF, the mentees, or to its objectives of the Mentorship Program.
Disclaimers
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the services and all included content are provided on an “as is” basis without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. RF further disclaims any and all liability related to your access or use of the services or any related content. You acknowledge and agree that any access to or use of the services or such content is at your own risk.
- RF makes no representations about the suitability, reliability, availability, timelines and accuracy of the information, software, services and related content contained on the Site or Portal for any purpose. RF further disclaims all warranties and conditions with regard to this information, software, services and related content, including all implied warranties and conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
Liability
- Users agree that neither RF nor its affiliates shall be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service. In no event shall RF's total liability to the user for all damages or losses exceed INR 1,000/-, as provided under paragraph VIII of the Terms.
- RF shall not be responsible or liable for the statements or conduct of any third party using the service.
- The Mentorship Program does not guarantee job placement or employment opportunities.
- I1. In case of this 'Mentorship Module', the involvement of RF is limited to identifying the mentor and mentee from a pool of volunteers, introducing the mentor to the mentee and facilitating mentorship meetings on the online video calling portal.
